People and Places
This subject is all about the world around us!
Geography is important because it's all about the real world - when you study Geography, you're looking at how we affect the world around us, and how it affects us too. We look at current problems, identify their causes and propose solutions. The general knowledge and analytical skills gained from Geography are transferable to many different areas of study. People and Places has two parts:
a. People, where we study issues such as poverty, development and aid, and look at how we can make the world a fairer place to live in. and b. Places, where we study the environments around us and look at how we can affect them, both positively and negatively. We also look at solutions to these problems, and how we can create a sustainable world. |
