Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, 2012
A trip to East Malaysia for the first time ever gave me a sense of how Malaysia encompasses so many different cultures and environments. The highlights of this trip were a) caving with Kuching Caving (sadly, I don't have any of my own photos) and b) a boat trip into the mangroves that line the banks and tributaries of Sungai Sarawak. The latter activity involved spotting Irrawaddy dolphins, Probiscus monkeys, saltwater crocodiles and fireflies.
